About Us

The U.S. manufacturing sector consumes 32% of the nation's energy and worldwide industry represents 38% of the total global opportunity for reducing carbon through energy efficiency. The mission of the Industrial Technologies Program is to improve national energy security, climate, environment, and economic competitiveness by transforming the way U.S. industry uses energy.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory is the lead DOE Lab for the Industrial Technologies Program. We partner with Industry to develop and implement real world energy solutions. ORNL is a global leader in Materials Science and Technology, Reactions and Separations, Controls and Sensors, and Best Practices for Industrial Energy Efficiency. ITP is actively engaged with industry to reduce industrial energy use and improve industrial competitiveness. We are currently involved in collaborative efforts with industrial partners in advanced materials, separations technologies, nanomanufacturing, alternative fuels and feedstocks, wireless sensors, and industrial energy assessments.
